This past Saturday the Tigers participated in a weekly scheduled program about Difference and Diversity. This program was led by 5th Formers Charles Innes ‘22 and Lang Gibson ‘22.
Cohort leaders were asked to lead discussions about diversity inside America. The activities started at 9:00 in the morning with a Zoom introduction to the meetings that would be going on for the next two and a half hours.
After the Zoom, groups kicked off with a game of Actually Curious. This game was a thought provoking card game where a student would be rewarded with the card if he gave the most thoughtful answer to the question on the card. Next on the agenda were two videos in a series by Emmanuel Acho. These were titled, “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man,” and the specific videos included the topic of the NFL’s decision to let players kneel during the national anthem. The special guest of the show was Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the National Football League. After the discussions about the videos, cohorts played a game of Kahoot on the topic of diversity at Woodberry.
Students were released at 11:30 to enjoy the weekend at Woodberry.
