This past Thursday, WFSPN presented the first-ever Varsity Soccer edition of Gameday at the Forest. The live, 25-minute broadcast began immediately following Thursday night seated meal, at 6:50 in the Dining Hall lobby.

There was a large turnout of boys, all hoping to appear in the background of the broadcast. Some took advantage of the provided materials and made funny signs to cheer on the Tigers. Notable examples were “WE HAVE ZOLLWEG” in reference to Jack Zollweg ’20, and Carter Krusz ’20’s “DO THE FIR TREE SONG!”

Hosted by Alex Forward ’20, Mr. Greg Jacobs, and Luke Stone ’20, the broadcast was themed around Varsity and JV soccer teams. Special guests included JV’s head coach Mr. Mark O’Donnell and Varsity’s head coach Mr. Len Mills. They talked about their team’s season and upcoming games. The focus, of course, was the Varsity team’s matchup with St. Christopher’s School on Friday afternoon, in which the Tigers and Saints drew 1-1. The broadcast also featured Tomas Valladares’s interview with goalkeeper Zack Woods ’20.

Ben Hulsey ’22 said, “The atmosphere was awesome; you could really feel the school’s spirit and community in the air.”
