This Thursday, students at Woodberry were welcomed into the Bowman Grey Auditorium by a large sign saying “Impeachment Inquiry.” A panel of six seniors in Dr. Jordan’s Honors Government Class sat on the stage.
Ian Kim ’20, Luke Stone ’20, Taft Gantt ’20, Hughes Edwards ’20, Rhew Deigl ’20, and Austin de la Torre ’20 had volunteered to present in the assembly. Kim explained the facts of the impeachment case, Edwards gave the proceedings historical context, Stone summarized the Democratic Party response, and Gantt explained the Republican point of view. After that, Deigl discussed what had happened since the proceedings had been opened and de la Torre showed a flowchart detailing potential outcomes in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
