Woodberry Hosts BSSAC Kickoff Karnival

By Carter Harrell ’22

This past Saturday, BSSAC (Boarding Schools Student Activity Committee) hosted the first mixer of the year, the Kickoff Karnival. Chatham Hall, Fork Union, Foxcroft, Madeira, Oldfield’s, St. Margaret’s, St. Mary’s, and The Miller School all attended the event.

The festivities took place behind the Barbee Center and began at 5 P.M., running until 8 P.M. There were a variety of food trucks for students to choose from, such as The Donut Kitchen, Kona Ice and Taco Naco. Also present were inflatable attractions, such as Human Foosball, a climbing wall, and Jacob’s Ladder. Fortunately, the weather held up, and it was possible to enjoy the attractions without getting soaked by rain.

Carter Krusz ‘20 was enthusiastic about the food, stating that “The Bavarian cream donuts were great!”

We can only hope that next year’s Karnival is just as good.
