This past Thursday, Woodberry Forest Squash defeated Episcopal for the first time in nine years. The Tigers had to fight for every point, winning the close match at home 5-4.

Woodberry’s depth was crucial, as they won five of the bottom six courts courtesy of strong performances from Billy Huger, Sam Long, Mariano Corona, Avery Warmack, and Thomas Griffin.

It was also a historic day for WFSPN, which broadcasted its first ever Woodberry squash match.

Woodberry won the following day in Washington D.C. at Gonzaga 8-1. Henry Rich was the man of the match with a nail-biting 3-2 victory on court one.

The Tigers are back in action Tuesday, January 8th when they travel to Wakefield High School. Three days later, Woodberry and Episcopal will play a rematch in Alexandria.
