The Third Form Visits the Fralin Art Museum

Ben Hulsey ’22

This Monday, October 1, 2018, the 3rd Form left campus for a field trip to Charlottesville, Virginia. The destination was the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia. Upon arrival, students were led on a tour through the museum.

The boys studied the art, listened to a brief explanation of the piece, and finally brainstormed to create a piece of writing that relates to the art. This is called Writer’s Eye, a competition set up by the museum, where students can submit poetry or prose concerning the artwork. After the tours, students were allowed to explore downtown Charlottesville for lunch and have a look around the University of Virginia’s campus.
