Led by captain Woodson Smith, and seniors Andrew Jacobs and Crawford Humphreys, the Varsity Golf team has enjoyed success throughout the season. The #2 ranked Tigers finished the regular season 11-3, and 6-1 in the Prep League.

Notable wins included a 142-147 victory over the #1 ranked St. Christopher’s at home, and a 141-150 home win against Trinity Episcopal.

Despite losing to St. Chris in the final regular season match, the Tiger’s posted one of the best team rounds of the season, shooting a two-over par 138. This round was also one of the lowest in Woodberry history when playing at St. Chris.

Heading into the Prep League and State tournaments, the team is full of confidence and momentum.

“We are feeling confident,” said Smith. “This team has a lot of grit, and we are peaking at the right time.”

The Tigers tee it up again on Tuesday at Keswick Hall for the Prep League tournament, and for the final time this year on May 21 for the State tournament at Meadowbrook Country Club in Richmond.
